Feng Shui

Feng Shui BaguaPronounced "Fung Shway", for improving and decorating, bedroom, living room, bathroom, and every other area of your life.

Feng Shui has been called the Chinese "Art of Placement," that balances the life energies, or chi, in a living space. Using simple "cures," it increases the flow of positive chi and subdues the negative flow. And according to the theory of Feng Shui, harmonizing our personal chi with the chi in the environment puts us in harmony with the natural forces of nature and, in turn, results in a healthy, happy and prosperous life.

What is Feng Shui?

The basic tenets of this philosophy are quite simple. If positive energy can flow through an environment, then the people residing there will benefit. Just as an acupuncturist or bodyworker charts the energy flow within a person's body and either stimulates points of stagnation or subdues overactive channels, Feng Shui maps the flow through our surroundings and makes adjustments -- with often startling results.

When the chi circulates properly, we experience a feeling of well-being while good health and prosperity are increased in our lives.

Who can benefit from Feng Shui?

Previously, the rulers of China kept the knowledge of this ancient art secret from the common people so that all their power could be centered on their temples and palaces. It wasn't until recent times that Feng Shui's secrets were revealed to the general public.

Today, numerous individuals such as home and business residents, architects, and interior designers are experiencing the benefits of this sacred art. Wealthy financiers are also involved in this ancient practice.

The Ba-Gua in Feng Shui

Feng Shui has at its core the concept of the Ba-Gua. The Ba-Gua is an eight-sided diagram that is derived from the "I-Ching" -- the Chinese book of Divination. Each side represents a different aspect of life such as Wealth, Career, Marriage, etc.

Adjusting the energy in each corresponding area subdues negative energy or enhances beneficial energy already present in these locations.

Tips:

* The Ba-Gua is always aligned with the wall containing the front door or main entrance to any living/working space, so you can apply the Ba-Gua to the entire house or building or to a specific room.

* You can also apply the Ba-Gua to the main entry point of any exterior space such as the whole property, a backyard or a small garden space.

* This Ba-Gua is used in conjunction with Feng Shui "cures" to positively influence one's finances, love life, creativity, health and other personal life issues.

* In Feng Shui, "water" is used to beneficially enhance the "Career" and "Wealth" areas of the Ba-Gua.
